Review of Dinner at ‘The Kingsway Hotel’ Cleethorpes ~ Lincolnshire ~Food ~Review

The above photographs are of a recent dinner at The Kingsway Hotel Cleethorpes That I attended with my family.
Arriving at the Kingsway the under cover car park was full but there is an over spill car park adjacent.  If you are staying at the hotel you are able to purchase parking tickets to enable you to park at the hotel, which in the height of summer it is recommendable.
Entering the Kingsway Hotel does feel a little like stepping into the late 70’s and ’80’s.  It has a very retro feel and although a little tired in decor has the feeling of the vintage old fashioned glamour but spotlessly clean.
After announcing our arrival at the reception desk we went to sit in the lounge, over looking Cleethorpes sea front.  Drinks were ordered at the bar and drinks can be a little pricey so worth checking before you order if you are on a budget.
The head waiter brought menus for use to peruse. A word of warning that the vegetarian option always seems to be the same and there is not a choice.  I do not know what would happen if you were staying at the hotel and maybe something to consider raising with the hotel if you feel this may be an issue for you.
After giving our order it was not long until we were escorted to the table in the large dining room, which already had a jug of water and thin toast bread on it.
No sooner had we settled into our seats, the starters arrived.  Three people had ordered melon, which looked like it had ice cream on the top!!  I had salad and Pirate Mick had the pate.  The salad was beautiful and Pirate Mick said his starter was the best part of the meal.
For main, the vegetarian had chosen a salad from starters, which the Kingsway made into a main portion, two had haddock, I had pork and Mr Blushes had liver.  All vegetables are the same whatever main you order and sometime I am not sure they always compliment.
I had a fruit salad for afters which was nice and refreshing, others had creme brulee and Pirate Mick had a strawberry tart with meringue.
We were all very full afterwards and headed back into the lounge for coffee and all agreed it had been a very pleasant evening.
The final bill for five people came to just over £200.
Have you eaten any where lately, even maybe the Kingsway Hotel?  Are you a vegetarian, vegan or follow another diet that makes eating out difficult in certain venues.  How would you suggest venues could be accessible to all?  I would love to hear from you!
