Breakfast At The Ivy ~Food ~Review

As I was in Leeds last weekend I decided to treat myself to ‘The Ivy’ for breakfast. Last year Pirate Mick and I went for an anniversary lunch and I reviewed it on this blog.  Here is the link  The Ivy-Leeds
Last weekend Leeds was being hit by one of the many storms we have had this year.  Why do they always arrive on a weekend? How ever the cold, raining and windy weather did nothing to dampen my spirits especially greeted by the beautiful floral display over the door at ‘The Ivy’ It really is beautiful.
The Ivy is situated in the gorgeous Victoria Quarter, Vicar Lane, Leeds LS1 6BB  with plenty of shops near by, including Ted Baker, Harvey Nichols and Vivienne Westwood.  Last summer I was lucky enough to go to an exhibition of Lee Price and Vivienne Westwood in Lincoln, UK from-bondage-to-liberation
In fact I was wearing my Vivienne Westwood necklace, the silver orb pendant, as you can see in the selfie I took.

Inside the Ivy it is beautifully decorated. Black and white and wooden floors set off the tastefully and eclectic walls, filled with bright art work and potted palms standing tall on the floors.  It is the sort of rooms that I imagine high class business deals being made over lunch and exudes a theatrical and high glamour ambience.
Pirate Mick and I were seated straight away, downstairs in the window and asked if we would like still or sparkling water to which we chose still.

The view from the window displays Leeds Kirkgate Market building to perfection.  Another stunning building with fabulous architecture, well worth a browse around.

For breakfast, which is served until 11.30am Monday to Friday and 11.00am on a Saturday and Sunday, there is a varied menu. Pastries and toast, full English and vegetarian breakfast.  Eggs cooked in various ways, salmon, grapefruit and kippers are just some of the choices. There is also a large choice of juices, smoothies, teas and coffees.  I chose to have orange juice and eggs benedict, which was amazing and the perfect start to the day. Pirate Mick had grapefruit juice and an omelette and he also said it was delicious.

The bill can be a little pricey, breakfast was just over thirty pounds, but worth it for a special occasion or anytime you just want to feel a little special.

I can not finish this post without more photographs of the wonderful interior, including the rest rooms! Gorgeous gold wall paper and a beautiful art deco feel.

Have you been anywhere that has blown you away with the decor? Have you visited any other Ivy’s around the country.  How do they compare?

Please feel free to leave a message and let me know your thoughts.I would love to hear from you.
