Every since I was a little girl I have always started my Christmas shopping at the end of October. My Grandma used to take me out into town as our special day and help me buy tree presents for the rest of the family to open after lunch on Christmas day. I have continued this tradition by always starting my Christmas shopping at this time!
This year I went to Brigg Garden Centre who have already opened their Christmas shop. Normally I have visited Brigg Garden Centre many times throughout the year already but I think the last time I was able to go was this time last year. So much has changed since then but the Christmas spirit lives on.

As the photographs show there is so much thought and love put into the displays at the garden centre that even a Grinch or a Scrooge could be won over! They are set out into small theatre sets to give you the impression that you are stepping into different houses or places over the festive period.
Brigg’s Christmas area is accessed by a separate entrance from inside the garden centre. The areas are designed into different themes and the items to buy that are displayed are in that area. I particularly enjoyed the woodland themes and would love to be in a cosy cabin, wrapped in faux fur, drinking hot chocolate next to a blazing log fire, reading books and watching the snow fall.
There are items to suit all pockets and tastes. What are your themes or colours of Christmas at your house? My tree started out as red, silver and white but I have so many decorations and ornaments that I have collected over the years that hold so many memories that it has now turned into a festival of colour and memories!! It is quite theatrical though with show business and pantomime touches!

Upstairs at Brigg garden centre is the light department. I adore Christmas lights, in fact I love them so much I may have a problem! Just walking around the twinkling lights instantly lifted my mood and made me feel relaxed. Nothing beats sitting at home in the evening with just the glow of the Christmas lights.
I certainly managed to get the feeling of Christmas and definitely recommend a visit to experience the festive feeling that we all could do with this year, more than ever! I would love to hear if you have visited and what you thought or if there is somewhere else that you think has the same or even more Christmas magic.

We visited one of our local garden centres recently and it was wonderful to see all the Christmas decorations up. Fingers crossed they can stay open during lockdown, outside at least, they make so much effort for their customers 🙂

I loved this post! My Christmas theme is also silver, red and white but I am loving the neutral decorations right now and might have to switch it up next year! Christmas lights are my absolute favourite and I hope I’ll be able to visit some places that have nice display this year 🙂
