I love nice surprises don’t you?
Loving surprises means that I adore the lucky dip or mystery boxes that are quite popular now by subscription post in the UK. There are many to suit every different taste and price tag so look around on line. I have ordered a few this year, some I am putting to one side for my birthday, which is just after Christmas and due to restrictions I will probably not be able to go anywhere so thought I would treat myself, and some are sold as definitely Christmas boxes so they will have to be opened when they arrive! Well they do not have to but that is the reason I am giving myself!
The first of the boxes arrived recently and it was the ‘Feline and Fiction’ box which has boxes throughout the year for £15 a box plus post and package.
I was informed by email that the box was on the way and was waiting with anticipation for the knock from the postman to deliver the box. When the box arrived it was made from strong cardboard and substantial, holding the gifts inside.
Opening the box the first thing to notice was the lovely Christmas card and a book. I was a little apprehensive as I can not read anything sad about animals, even if it has a happy ending, but luckily this months book is called ‘A Friend Called Alfie’ and I glanced quickly at the description and was delighted to see that it seems a funny light hearted book. It has been on the Sunday Times Best Seller list and I hope I am right that I am safe in reading it without tears!
Also in the box was a beautiful cat mug and a gorgeous large black fluffy cat keyring wearing a Santa hat, which I have hung onto the Christmas tree. I love Simon’s Cat and so was delighted to receive a Christmas tea towel and car air freshener, both in the Simon’s Cat range.
There was also a Cat diary book with some interesting facts about cats, a calendar with photographs of subscribers cats, some cat treats and a small snowman toy for my fur baby which she adores.
As you can see there are some lovely items in the box and I feel it is good value. If you love cats, books and surprises then definitely check out ‘Feline and Fiction’.
Are there any subscription boxes that you would recommend? I would love to hear from you!
