I am delighted to have discovered a wonderful art store on line recently called ‘Art and Hue’ It is pop art prints on many various themes.
I absolutely love the prints especially as they are on some of my favourite people and retro tv shows including ‘Are You Being Served’, ‘On The Buses’ and ‘George And Mildred’ which can be found in 70’s Sitcoms. and Carry On films including some of the wonderful Barbara Windsor and Joan Sims.
Joan and Jackie Collins are featured and as a nod to Dynasty is Joan and Kate O’Mara as the Morrell sisters. I would like to see some more prints of the original ‘Dynasty’ with other characters. Imagine a trio of Blake, Krystal and Alexis! How fabulous would that be?.
Slightly disappointed there are not any prints of Judy Garland or Liza Minnelli, as they would definitely be a welcome addition to my collection. This disappointment however was soon replaced when I discovered they had a ‘Drag Icon’ collection section which featured the one and only ‘Danny La Rue’
Once I had seen the Danny La Rue picture I knew I had to purchase and the first decision I had to make was what size to get. There is an option of three sizes A2, £39 A3 £29 and A4 £15 and I chose A4 as I have other photographs and prints that size on my drag collection wall. You are then able to chose the colour you desire your print to be from around twenty colours available to match all home decors and personal preferences. I love the fact that the website changes the colours in the example as you click on them so you can see exactly what the print will look like. I actually chose the example colour of ‘Think Pink’ for my Danny La Rue print.
It was very simple to order through the website and the post and packaging for the print was only £4.00.
I actually ordered just before Christmas and was expecting a long wait but it arrived quickly and safely in a hard backed envelope. The print is also in a cellophane cover to keep it safe. I have not been able to buy a photograph frame yet and actually this is going to be part of a project this to year to reframe my photographs, but that does not stop my Danny La Rue print from looking fabulous, propped up on display, even if I say so myself!
I am sure it wont be the last purchase I make from ‘Art and Hue’ and the biggest trouble is not having enough walls to decorate and choosing which one to purchase next! Why not take a look at the website and give me your opinion of the art work. Is there a collection you would particularly like to see portrayed? I would love to hear.
