Breakfast at ‘The Mansion House’ Louth, Lincolnshire ~Food~Review

One of the things that have changed as I have got older is the time I like to socialise. I used to consider nothing sociable until the sun was at least setting. This started when I worked in the theatre and we would go out to eat after a show had finished and often bundled into one car in a ‘McDonalds’ car park chatting with a coffee until the early hours.

Now whilst I love going out for a good night out I also appreciate a lovely social breakfast, lunches and afternoon teas.

I recently booked for Pirate Mick and I to have breakfast at ‘The Mansion House’ in Louth, Lincolnshire as this meant we could park easily and then have time browsing the market that is held in the market place on a Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

The venue is situated close to ‘St James Church’ in Louth and I had booked by text message the day before and received a confirmation, asking for the number of diners and checking, due to Covid restrictions, that we were from the same social bubble.

We arrived at the time specified and was greeted warmly and taken to a table at the back of the venue next to the window that had a beautiful view of the garden. The room is a large through room and has many antiques on the walls and on the large fireplaces. It is worth just going into the restaurant for a coffee just to take in the surroundings. It is beautiful at any time but I bet it is particularly stunning at Christmas.

Pirate Mick and I both browsed the menu and decided on the small breakfast. For £5.50 it consists of a slice of bacon, a Lincolnshire sausage, a fried egg, a hash brown, mushrooms, beans, black pudding, tomato and toast.

The regular breakfast is priced at £10.50 with double the size of the small breakfast.

We had the small breakfast, which for us was plentiful and left out the black pudding. We also had lattes to drink. The breakfast was hot and tasty, beans arriving in a small separate pot and the egg was just perfect. The sausages are local and can be bought from the butchers ‘Lakings’ also in Louth.

Everything had been put into place to assist in the covid prevention. People serving had on masks or visors. When you order you have to order all condiments and sugar as well as main meals. The sauces are brought to your table in individual sealed pots.

I would definitely recommend ‘The Mansion House’ for breakfast and I can not wait until I test their other meals and their cakes looked very tempting as well.

The Mansion House opening times are Wednesday through to Saturday: 10am – 3pm Saturday: 7pm – 9pm Sunday: 12pm – 2pm ~ Booking Highly Recommended

Looking at the photographs do you think you would like to visit? Do you have anywhere that you would recommend? I would love to know.

  1. Photos look great! I only ever have a full English when I’m on holiday, and lucky enough, a visit to Lincolnshire would be a holiday. I’d definitely visit if I’m in the area.

    1. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed x

  2. This sounds great, I love that they do a small option, a full one is always way too much food! Sounds like they have good covid measures in place as well. I totally agree about loving a social breakfast/ coffee meetup rather just a night out too x

    1. Yes I’m the same. The smaller option is plenty for me x

  3. Looks like an amazing and relaxing time!
