Looking for another little gem in Lincolnshire to visit? In North Lincolnshire, Howsham there is a lovely little coffee shop called ‘Clayton’s Corner’
Due to the Corona Virus Clayton’s Corner is currently only offering outside seating. Although there is ample seating outside there is no shelter in bad weather so this should be taken into consideration if you are planning a visit . There are signs as you enter the large car park that they are very strict on social distancing and tables are well spaced around the courtyard.
You are required to wear masks any time you enter the building to order your food and drink, or to use the toilets, which you have to wait for somebody to unlock for you each time and there is a one way system in place. The plates, cups and cutlery are all plastic or disposable and so make sure you keep hold of your cup so it does not go dancing in the breeze!
The coffee was lovely and there were so many delicious cakes to tempt me that it was a very hard decision and in the end I went for a classic chocolate fudge cake which was a good choice as it tasted as delicious as it looked.
There are many items on the menu from breakfast, lunches, snacks, drinks, cakes and ice-creams.
It is a popular café with bikers, both motorcycles and push bikes, and so it seems a very busy spot. The staff however are top notch on their social distancing rules and you should feel very safe to enjoy a meal or drink in a lovely setting.
Have you eaten here? It is a hidden gem that I have only recently discovered. I would love to hear from you if you go and visit, especially after reading this review, and tell me what you think.
