Coffee and Cake Diary Blog

First Coffee and Cake Diary Blog

Welcome to my blog diary of thoughts, views and life adventures as they happen. So pull up a chair, pour that coffee and let’s be friends!

Many people are asking me more about my everyday life so I thought I would start a blog diary of my thoughts, views and adventures on a more regular basis and see how it goes!

So this is time to pour a coffee, eat some cake and pull up a chair. Let’s be friends.

Hello!

How are you doing this summer? Usually I would be holidaying in Kalkan, Turkey this time of year as I mentioned in a previous post https://overtherhinestonerainbow.blog/were-all-going-on-a-summer-holiday-diana-apartments-kalkan-turkey/

Unfortunately I am sure I do not have to explain why we are not going this year and are having a staycation instead.

One of my wonderful friends, who I meet in Kalkan, messaged to say her, her partner and dog, were in Lincolnshire. Pirate Mick and I were so pleased to see them and not only met for a coffee that day but the following day met for an evening meal at The Royal Oak, known locally as ‘The Splash’. Great meal and fabulous company.

It made me realise what fabulous friends we have. True friends are the ones that it does not matter how often or how long you have not seen them. When you meet up it is as if you only saw them yesterday!

Lunch Date

I love pizza and Pirate Mick gave me a surprise with an unexpected lunch date at Tredici in Abbeygate Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Tredici is an authentic Italian Bistro with an Italian wood fired pizza oven.

I had the Pesce pizza, consisting of tomato, mozzarella, tuna, anchovies and olives and Pirate Mick had the Napoli pizza, tomato, mozzarella and fresh basil.

Service was great and a lovely relaxed atmosphere for lunch.

I love pizza and Italian food. Going to Sorrento Italy on honeymoon was the first time I had been abroad. Therefore Italian food always has a special place in my heart. It is always my go to food when I do not know what to have. I adore antipasti, such as Italian cured meat and olives, especially on a summer’s evening on my balcony sipping a glass of something cold and bubbly.

What is your favourite pizza topping and the big question ‘Does pineapple belong on a pizza?’. My vote is a resounding yes! Why would you not? It enhances the flavouring and is refreshing. Do you agree? You are welcome to try and change my mind but I warn you I do not think you can!

Well I had better stop now as just thinking about it is making me hungry and that is not a good idea before I turn in to bed.

That is all for tonight, however I promise I will update with more adventures soon.
