I borrowed the book ‘Girl A’ by Dan Scottow on my Amazon Prime Kindle books. Billed as an unforgettable psychological thriller and I do admit I do enjoy a good thriller.
This story is of a seven year old girl, named Girl A. She is accused, along with an eleven year old boy, of committing a terrible crime in 1985. The crime involving the torturing and killing of a very young boy.
The boy was found guilty of the heinous crime. The girl was not. Although after the trial her name was leaked therefore she had to change. Not only her appearance and identity but start a new life.
Beth has a husband, son, daughter and a dog. She has a very successful career but all that is under threat when a note is delivered saying ‘FOUND YOU’. On investigation it is discovered that somebody thinks she could be Girl A. Is this all a terrible case of mistaken identity? Or has the past literally come back to haunt her and put her own family in danger?
I read this book over a couple of nights as it was a page turner. Wanting to know what happens next takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions.
Admittedly there are a few times I had to skip a few pages. There are quite descriptive paragraphs on child and animal torture which was too descriptive for me to read.
This is one of those books that you can not say a lot about. It would give too much away. There are so many surprise twists and turns that literally take your breath away. Every time you think you can work it out you are completely realise that you have not!
This book is available to purchase on Kindle or in paperback from Amazon
