I could not wait to see if it would what the wonderful secret was over the garden wall.
Baumber Walled Gardens is an innovative working project of love by owners Sonia and David Elton. The traditional kitchen garden is a stunning area of tranquillity. There is a large car park surrounding the garden and various gateways to enter.
I was not expecting the wonderful sight that behold over the garden wall. On entering the garden there is a large lake with the most wonderful water lilies just starting to open. Deck chairs are placed around the garden, so there are plentiful of opportunities to sit down, take a breather, admiring the natural beauty of your surroundings. The sheds/huts/potting sheds dotted around the garden are the most adorable gift shops with a large selection of gifts and garden trinkets plus there is a large area of plants to browse and purchase.
The Potting Shed Tearoom has an inside seating area and many tables outside. Order from the counter and then drinks and food is brought to your table. The menu is large and plentiful to cater for all whether you desire a coffee and cake or a full lunch.

Throughout the year there are special events held at the garden and these require admission however at other times there is no admission to enter the gardens. Donation boxes are available in the gardens if you desire to help continue this hidden gem.
Well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome and children must be supervised at all times. The lake in the middle of the garden is very deep and the garden is landscaped and not suitable for games. There are disabled toilets and some of the garden is accessible to wheelchairs however the garden is obviously a natural, ever changing environment so caution must be applied at all times.
Finding the garden very therapeutic totally peaked my creativity and I would love to take a or a sketch pad and allow the time to go by peacefully in this setting listening to the singing birds and the many bees collecting nectar from the wonderful flourishing plants surrounding the garden.
What I love about this setting is that the garden will always be different depending on the weather, season or even time of the day never predictable and always something new and innovative to discover.
A truly hidden gem just over the garden wall! Why not go and discover this for yourself and please let me know your thoughts. Does nature relax you? I would love to know.
