Start your engine and be prepared to let down your hair as the adult pantomime returns to Grimsby Auditorium for the first night of their nationwide tour.
I finally made it back into a theatre, nineteen months after my last visit Another Opening, Another Show
This time is was the adult pantomime ‘Rapunzel’. https://www.facebook.com/adultpantotour/ starring, from Ru Paul’s Drag Race, Ellie Diamond, Tamisha Iman, Trinity K Bonet and Alexis Mateo.
Davey Hopper wrote and directed the pantomime as well as keeping the whole show together as ‘Little Willy’, the character similar to Buttons in Cinderella.
The show is full of camp innuendo, and filthy fun. I do not think anybody could fail to leave the theatre after this show without a smile on their face.
There is a full catalogue of fun music hits including the fabulous ‘UK Hun’, that has the whole audience on their feet.
The script follows the usual pantomime format but with a cheeky twist. Have you ever seen ‘If I were not upon the stage something else I would like to be’ with certain positions included! Or the ghost in the ‘It’s behind you’ sketch with a very large extension!
As well as the Ru girls and Davey Hopper there are notable performances from Jack Cordingley, as the prince and Lucy Santana Fernandes as the wicked mother Gothel.
