Lincoln Asylum Steampunk Festival ~Event

Good evening! I recently went, with Pirate Mick, on our yearly trip to Lincoln Asylum Steam Punk Festival, which is now held on August late bank holiday.

I had purchased a head dress from  ‘Peacock Pretties’  It was perfect for Steampunk and so I  based my outfit around it.

I wore a black strapless dress and sewed up the sides to show my, frilled knickers, striped stockings and black garters. I wore my favourite red and black under bust corset, Lush wig, goggles and the head dress.  It was sunny so I had to wear my cat sunglasses which matched the finishing  off of my outfit with Irregular Choice Miaow boots.  They are so comfortable and I do need to invest in a new pair.

I had purchased a wristband and this entitles you to attend the various workshops and exhibitions as well as allowing you to enter Lincoln Castle and other venues, including the head quarters at the university To travel  to and from the Cathedral from the university there is a free vintage bus service, on these days. There was a Lego exhibition going on at the Castle and so I got to see those exhibits as well.

There were lots of stalls, both inside and outside venues, selling steam punk, macabre, time travellers and curiosity objects. My eye was particularly drawn to the glowing unicorn blood necklace. One of the stalls, run by a lovely friend of mine, is ‘Purple Poison Ivy Accessories ‘
and she sells some fabulous items, including beard adornments.
It was a truly splendid day and if I have sparked your interest then why not look at the link to the asylum steam punk festival and I might just see you there next year!
