Sunday Lunch at ‘The Curious Cat’ ~ Food ~ Cocktails ~EatingOut ~Lincolnshire

How are we all doing? Hope everything is going well for you at the moment.  Everything just seems a little strange and it is difficult trying to get into ‘The New Normal’ that the government is trying to sell us.  I so do not want to get used to the new normal I want my old normal back thank you!  How ever I do appreciate that this is as good as it can be at the moment and do one hundred percent support the businesses that are trying so very hard to work in unfamiliar circumstances to be open and safe both for workers and customers.

One such venue is one of my favourites ‘The Curious Cat’ in Bethlehem Street, Grimsby, North East Lincolnshire.

Pirate Mick and I decided to return recently for Sunday Lunch, although I do think that they have changed their opening hours, so please always check before going.

I used the booking form on line to book and answered all the questions in advance before arriving at the entrance door in Bethlehem Street, the exit door is in Abbeygate. At the door you are greeted and taken to your seat. I was initially taken a back at the perspex screens between the tables but it does mean that they are able to have the tables roughly how they were.

The waiting staff had on masks and visors and the menu is photocopied onto paper, so disposable.  There is a slightly limited menu, both for food and drinks but I was delighted to see my favourite the ‘ReThink Pink’ cocktail made the cut! Others must feel the same as it is one of four that is being sold in small bottles for a take home treat!

For two Sunday lunches and two cocktails the total bill came to £36.40

Lunch was delicious, as always, and the staff were attentive when needed.

We both felt very safe and if that is what the new normal has to look like at the moment then at least it means we can still enjoy some of our old favourites.

Have you been back to an old favourite of yours yet? What do you think about the phrase ‘The New Normal?’ Will things ever go back to how they were or will this have moved things in a different direction for a long time to come?

I would love to know your views.
