I have always wanted to go to the Cosy Club. The nearest one I know of to me is in Lincoln, Lincolnshire. For one reason or another I have never managed to get there yet!
Imagine my delight when I realised there was one in Taunton, Somerset where I was staying for a few days.
I thought the name was familiar and could not place it but a quick google showed that yes, it was the same chain as the Cosy Club in Lincoln.
The Cosy Clubs are often in old grand buildings and this one did not disappoint. It is apparently housed in an old Victorian art college and has an upper and lower floor. https://cosyclub.co.uk/location/taunton/
On the day I visited it was raining outside and the club definitely lived up to its name, feeling cosy inside. I could imagine at Christmas it would be splendid and full of atmosphere and Christmas cheer. Throughout the rest of the year I feel it allows me to live out my Dynasty fantasy. Lunch dates with glamorous ladies would be perfect in this suitable setting!
The place had a mix match of furniture although it did all fit the same theme. There were many framed pictures on the wall and large glass crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling.
There is a bar/lounge area and through a door into a larger room with a large bar and dining tables.
I decided to sit up stairs in the bar that reminded me of a gentleman’s study!
After browsing the menu I decided on a pink lemonade, obviously in no way swayed at all by the colour! It was a great choice, refreshing and absolutely delicious, priced at £3.50.
There is also a large food menu of you are feeling hungry. Brunch is served from 9am until 5pm and food is available until later in the day, usually closing around 11pm.
